meebo is opening up its doors to developers and we'd love for you to help us create awesome multi-user applications that meebo users can use to connect to their friends..
1) Think of an activity
You fill in the blank: "I want to _____ with you." (think "at the same time")
2) Register your app!
Register your application with our application database here.Once you've registered we will send you a shared secret that you can use to sign your API calls. If you choose to sign your calls, we provide a Python utility file that can authenticate.
After you've built your app, you'll then sign into meebo with your meebo account (the one you've given to us in the registration form) in order to see your application. When registration is complete, your app will appear in the application menu of the IM window inside your specific meebo session. While you can invite your friends to try it out, you will only be able to launch your app from your meebo account.
3) Get the starter files
Your application will live inside an IFrame contained within a meebo room. Like Javascript more than Flash or vice versa? No problem! You can build an app in both!4) Get it approved
When you're fully tested and feel comfortable with your new application, shoot us an email meeboplatform-submit at meebo dot com. We'll review your application and in the coming weeks, contact you with further information.
